Our philosophy regarding golf course architecture at Gleneagles Country Club is right along the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory.
Gleneagles was originally a private country club called Twin Eagles. It was known then as a prime example of the artistry of IPGA Hall of Fame architect Charles Maddox.
In 1951, John and Edward McNulty purchased the courses. The two, 18-hole courses were, are and will always remain - traditional golf courses, giving golfers a grand experience no matter their skill level or abilities.
Mr. Maddox designed a couple gems. We've seen no reason to alter perfection! Any changes to the course have been made without changing Mr. Maddox' original intent.
Gleneagles today plays the way Mr. Maddox intended. And as is usually the case, everything that's old is new again. This traditional approach to golf course architecture is all the rage today. So you see, we kept this gem, waiting for you to appreciate it!
